More than a school.
A Childhood

A community that knows them. Sees them. Believes them. And shows up for them — every single day.

If you visited Eden on an ordinary Tuesday, you might find children picking fruit from a tree and

deciding what to make with it.

You might find muddy feet near the garden, a group negotiating the rules of a game, someone curled up with a book, and another child proudly showing everyone the fort they've built from scraps and imagination.

You might overhear questions with no immediate answers.

"Where do ants come out from?"

"Can we fix this?"

"Will you help me?"

You might see a child comforting a friend, another setting the table for snack,

and someone insisting, "I can do it myself. Let me try."

There are stories and songs. There is laughter.

There are disagreements and opportunities to work through them.

There is paint on sleeves, dirt under fingernails, and the occasional discovery that changes the course of the morning.

A slow start. Shared meals. Time outdoors. Time to wonder. Time to work. Time to play.

Because we believe childhood is not a race toward adulthood. It is a life in itself.

And we want children to spend these years becoming curious, capable, kind people who know that their ideas matter, that other people matter, and that they can help leave the world a little better than they found it.

Perhaps this is simply the childhood we wish every child could have.

What if children spent their days being fully themselves?

Curious enough to wonder.
Brave enough to try.
Unhurried enough to notice.
Free enough to follow what fascinates them.
Grounded enough to belong.

What kind of world might emerge from a childhood lived like that?

This little community is our attempt at finding out.

Welcome to EDEN!

A Curriculum light learning community (2+ years)
Unschooling inspired.
Preschool.

All learning begins in wonder

Children arrive in the world carrying this wonder naturally.

They ask impossible questions.

They notice things we walk past.

They chase ideas with a seriousness that often looks like play.

We do not believe education begins with answers.

We believe it begins with the desire to know.

Our task is not to fill children with information.

It is to keep alive the spark that makes them want to seek it.

Because facts can be forgotten.

Wonder stays.

And a child who learns to wonder is a child who will never stop learning.

Home as pedagogy

Our school is set within a home, with all the warmth, rhythms, and imperfections that make a place feel lived in. And from the moment you enter, something feels familiar. We believe children deserve to spend their days in places that feel deeply human. As you walk through the gate, you may find children gathered around a table, a parent in the garden sharing the names of plants, or teachers carrying bottles of paint into a room. The rhythms of cooking, growing, cleaning, making, and sharing shape the day as much as books, projects, and lessons.

The small, ordinary acts through which we learn to care for ourselves, for one another, and for the world around us. These are not interruptions to the curriculum.

They are the curriculum.

No two children are the same

So we ask. How do you feel? What do you love? What do you wish there was more of? What feels hard? We listen to the answers — not to report them, not to fix them, but because a child who is truly heard becomes a child who learns to trust themselves. And we watch. Closely, quietly, without agenda. For the moment the eyes change. That small, unmistakable spark — when something clicks, or opens, or simply delights. That is where we begin.

We do have lesson plans, we come prepared, but if children are curious about what birds eat, what good is spending a week on colours doing to them?
